RECYCLED AMERICA'S

ADOPT A TREE
Our first victim of progress
Maple Tree
Naturally Planted
This is a very nice Maple Tree that is likely 8 to 10 years old. As I began tearing off the
front deck on this mobile home, here was this tree growing on the deck. This is a fine
black maple about 6 to 7 feet tall that was not actually growing on the deck, the truth be
known it was growing through a refrigerator wire shelf and sitting on top of a corrugated
piece of Green fiberglass roofing. The fiberglass roofing fell  through and was laying on
the deck maybe years before the seed fell in enough soil to take root. The root system
was entangled a little and we lost only one or two 1/4 inch sized roots. I would guess this
tree was standing over 6 feet tall prior to my uprooting its world. To ship it to you I will
remove all soil and carefully prune the top and side branches to promote root growth.
The roots will be packed in rooting gel but not trimmed hopefully to lessen transplant
shock. It will likely still experience some stress from being transplanted but if you plant
this tree this fall, it should flourish next Spring. I am confident with so little of the root
system jeopardized by the ease in which this tree came up off of the fiberglass roofing, I
can't imagine adopting this fine Maple would take much more than digging enough hole
to accommodate the root system, fertilize, water and watch the growth.  This nice 6 foot
Maple can be yours for  $ 19.95 plus S&H  Okay I was thinking of taking Paypal but
send
an email and maybe I will change my mind. You know the address so just make your
check or money order payable to Steven M. Townsend

This tree will be sold to the first email, if I do not mark it sold before you
contact me, I can
attempt to find a friend or relative of this tree (I'll send  photos) for you to consider
adopting this one or many more of its friends.
Here is a nice naturally planted Water Oak which I am guessing is maybe a 2 - 3 year
old tree. It sure would be a breeze to ship this tree and some of its friends your way.
Please note as above first come first served. First email will be buying this one of a kind
naturally planted Water Oak seedling. If I didn't mention this above, I am trying to avoid
doing harm to any of these trees but a 15" - 18" tall seedling can be overlooked while
trying to man handle some beam or dragging debris across the forest floor. I have trees
like this all over the property and would rather try to relocate them then see them
trampled or run over simply because I am thoroughly engulfed in thought or task when I
hear the snap of a stem.  Please help to save these seedlings to thrive and flourish in
your yard as opposed to being trampled upon by a big dummy.  This one is near our
fine guest house accommodations (the rotting mobile home)  Planting season is here so
email and adopt this healthy little tree before Bigfoot comes by.  Only.$9.95 plus S&H

Naturally planted Water Oak
about 18 inches tall
Naturally planted Sweet Gum
18 to 24 inches tall
The tree in the foreground
This photo is typical of many areas around the property. Here is a healthy 2 feet tall
Sweet Gum seedling. ( Note the leafy little tree in the foreground )  Directly behind this
are three Eastern Red Cedar trees that are too close to the mow line and have thus far
been able to avoid direct contact with the riding mower. So often these tiny trees are
overlooked when the bulldozer shows up and is simply gouged out of the ground as
collateral damage in the name of progress. I do not believe these trees in question are
in jeopardy of a bulldozer or progress, but they sure could use a secure home in your
yard where they can enjoy tremendous growth. This tree along with one other I will offer
for sale here are fast growing hardwoods. This Sweet gum tree can reach heights of
over 100 feet tall with firm straight trunks. The wood is used in furniture and cabinets
and provide wonderful shade with a well developed canopy. This little sweet gum or
ones about this same size can be yours for only $9.95 + S& H

Naturally planted Eastern
Red Cedar

8 to
16 inches tall
Here is a healthy naturally planted Eastern Red Cedar seedling. ( There are actually a
bunch of them in this photo
) The Eastern Red Cedar tree is used in furniture and all
kinds of interior decor. Easily recognized by the dark red heart wood contrasted by a
lighter nearly white looking outer wood this tree will need to grow many years before
anyone would be able to harvest lumber as they are a slow growing conifer that has the
characteristics of many hardwoods. Known for its aromatic qualities Red Cedar is often
used in storage areas and hope chests for deterring damage from moths or other
textile damaging pests. These seedlings need to be adopted simply because they
are
too close to the mow line and have thus far been able to avoid direct contact with the
riding mower. So often these tiny trees are overlooked
because of development and
are victims
as collateral damage in the name of progress. I do not believe these trees in
question are in jeopardy of a bulldozer or progress, but they sure could use a secure
home in your yard where they can enjoy tremendous growth.
Adopt an Eastern Red
Cedar
or ones about this same size can be yours for only $5.95 + S& H These
seedlings are just the right size for beginning a Bonsai Garden
